What is it?
USTA League is the country's
largest recreational tennis league, helping more than 325,000 players nationwide
get on the court, have a good time, and step up their game. The League is
organized as competitive team match play. Teams are made up of a minimum of
five to eight players depending upon division. Teams and matches are set up
according to NTRP ratings, so your teammates and opponents will be at your skill
level. The competition is exciting, the atmoshpere is social, and since players
compete on teams you have a built-in cheering section.
Who can play?
USTA League is for women
and men age 19 and older of all abilities and experience. Whether you're new
to the game or a former player, there's a spot for you.
How does it work?
Teams compete in three
national divisions: Adult, Senior, and Mixed Doubles. The format features
singles and doubles matches for adult leagues, and three doubles matches for seniors
and mixed leagues. Other League opportunities include Super Senior Doubles
(age 60 and over), Mixed Senior (age 50 and over) and Combo Doubles, where the combined
NTRP ratings of the doubles determine participation.
How competitive
is it?
Do you have the desire
to compete on a national level? USTA League is the only adult recreational
tennis program in the country with a national championship. If you just want
to play regularly, improve your game, or simply meet new people, USTA League can
take you there too. Make it your League. Play as hard as you want.
