River City Womens League

River City Racquet League is a women’s daytime, doubles league.  Practice and matches are held during the week-day – from late August until May.  Blairwood’s teams play other local tennis club teams at USTA-rated levels. 

All River City team members who play on a Blairwood team must be a member in good standing of Blairwood Tennis & Fitness Club. 

River City Rostering and Sign-up:  Players sign up for River City teams two times during the season.  Initial team formation is by July 1st, with late additions by August 1st.  New players – who have not been on a River City team that playing season – may be added in December – (River City Division Heads will be able to provide exact deadline and requirements.)

Practices & Cost:  Practices are once a week for 1 ½ hours.  Each team decides how many pros and courts they want for practice, which determines the practice cost.  Practices are paid by the two-month period from September to March.

Matches:  Matches are divided into Fall Season (August-December) and Spring Season (January-May).  Each Division plays on a designated day:  Open A & A-1 teams play Thursdays;  A-2 & C-2 teams play Tuesdays;  B-1 teams play Mondays;  B-2 teams play Wednesdays;  B-3 & C-1 teams play Fridays.  Match cost is $15 per player.

Babysitting:  Blairwood has a wonderful Nursery for children ages six weeks to eight years old.  Nursery Hours: Monday – Thursday 9:00am – 2:00pm & 4:00pm – 8:00pm
    Friday 9:00am – 2:00pm
    Saturday 8:30am – 2:00pm
    Sunday - Closed
                 
After-Match Luncheon:  A highlight of the River City Match Play, is the great lunches provided by the home team!  Blairwood has a spacious serving and dining area in the upstairs tennis viewing room.
